My IBS stopped when I cut out toothpaste with fluoride. Apparently fluoride is resposible fo all sorts of problems. It's worth a try. I use Sarakan from Holland and Barrett. it's brilliant also for bleeding gums.

I just typed a long reply and toddler horror pressed a button and its gone!

Thanks for replying. I have suffered for about 10 years now. Triggered by a bad bout of food poisoning I believe.

It has come back again badly since March, only in the mornings and I find it to awful, but try to keep calm to as not to get myself ina tizz and make it worse. Sometimes I dont think I can leave the house, not easy when you have to take son to school. I can go to the bathroom 4-5 times before I leave the house. And sit in the car doing deep breathing with milk of magnesia by my side.

I have tried eliminating foods, but it doesnt seem to work. I cant eat or drink until about 11am. And then I am fine. I took up yoga a couple of months ago, which seems to help.

I will try the toothpaste tip thanks. It is a difficult subject to talk about, glad to find Im not the only one. Any ideas etc gratefully received. Thanks.

Aloe vera Juice - from most good health shops is disgusting but superb it cured my horrendous IBS within about a month ( it started to ease straight away) and touch wood I haven't been affected badly by it since. Also as a quick helper the homeopathic remedy nux vomica 30c mught help as this for over indulgence on food or stress ( given to executives!!) and it has again helped me.

haven't got time to write now, but just quickly scanning messages. I am training as a nutritionist at the mo, and have just started seeing guinea pigs for free (fully supervised by my tutors) - where do you live? I'm in NW London. If not, then when I have got more time, maybe I could try and help - there are lots of different causes of IBS - each person is individual and there are lots of things that may help - depending on you.

Green, do you need guinea pigs? It's been suggested that my son and I see a nutritionist because of food allergies, but I haven't done it. We're in south Islington. If you need people, just email me.
