It seems that there is probably rather a lot of us who are impatiently waiting to see consultants, have tests or waiting for surgery. So a thread for you to vent in or post your 'hooray's'

me. Am waiting to see my cardiologist. been a bit of a catalogue of delays and getting lost in the system. I have a wonderfully supportive gp who has just calmed me down after me losing the plot a bit when I found I wasnt on the appt system.

How about you?

Sorry to add to the drama, but I'm just having a moment of sudden panic as to whether I've done myself an injury.

I had DS on my lap whilst DH was shaving upstairs and needed to grap suddenly to stop him falling... it's now really painful. Added to that, I'd just been in the bath and seen pus around the scar.

Shall we take a trip to A&E together?

ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 10:58

Will see how I am in half an hour BM. If it happens again, I am most certainly going to go. That was horrid!

(mind you I didn't go when I was at 200 with pains between my shoulder blades, waited to see the gp the next day, not very good at going to a&e, don't want to seem like a worry wart)

OP posts:
ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 10:59

Aaa argh BM, it does sound like you need to go, extra pain and pus is not right.
Can you imagine if we did go together?!

All the best LGR. Bad chest infections are a total bugger. I know that hospital is the right place to be, but how exhausting for you. I hope the oxygen is helping lots. I remember when dd2 was a baby, she was in for 8 days with bronchiolitis (sp?) and the oxygen really did help, but she took a long time to stop needing it. It was the only time in my life, when I felt too shattered to think straight, drive or form a proper sentence, and yet needed to do all those things.

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 31/03/2012 11:10

We'd probably end up in the media as a umsnetters save each other's lives' type story...

Obviously, given that I've just suggested you go, my own reluctance is pure hypocrisy. But OMG I don't want to either... I feel a total worrywart.

Gonna try ringing OOH first.

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 31/03/2012 11:11

*Mumsnetters save eath others lives

Being slightly sarcastic, of course...

ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 11:17

Grin BM. Good luck with OOH.
I'm doing ok now.

Have given my details to call handler. They're going to call me back...

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 31/03/2012 11:53

Waiting for the callback. Argh getting nervous...

ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 11:59

Have you a plan on how to go in if you need to. Call backs are horrid, really anxiety producing.

Have spoken to a GP just now. He offered me a GP appointment at the local hospital but said that I'd probably be OK to wait until Monday.

How are you doing?

ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 12:33

Feeling better thanks, bit dizzy. pulse is still low, between 56 and 52. Dh has gone to the tip so I am sitting still. Did you decide to wait until Monday? How is your temp?

Madsometimes · 31/03/2012 12:37

A&E for Mumsnetters would have Boden medical gowns, Farrow & Ball paint schemes and fruit shoot free vending machines selling organic elderflower presse. Pinot Grigio would be dispensed at wine o'clock. There would be public information posters warning about the dangers of googling Dragon Butter.

It is not a place that I would want to be on a Friday night, the injuries resulting from Friday night threads would be quite horrific.

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 31/03/2012 12:59

Mad OMG thank you, thank you for the laugh. It proved to me that my pelvic floor is still in fine working order, even if the rest of my body is falling apart.

There'd also be a children's area furnished entirely with sustainably forested and non-lead-painted wooden toys.

And anyone with less than perfect grammar would be shouted at by staff.

kitten You are worrying me. Utter hypocrisy on my part because I know that if I were in your position I would never have gone to A&E, but really... a heart rate which can dip that low neeeeeeeeds sorting out.

Madsometimes · 31/03/2012 13:13

But being less flippant, OYBBK, certainly get yourself to A&E if you feel that bad again.

I do hope that once the amiodarone is out of your system that these episodes cease. I feel so sad for you having to wait longer for answers and treatment.

Madsometimes · 31/03/2012 13:18

BM I'm glad someone has an intact pelvic floor Grin. We won't mention mine.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 13:28

There would have to be extra security available for the AIBUers too!

OP posts:
ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 13:30

I will go up to a&e if it dips that low again. Hopefully it was a one off.

OP posts:
BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 31/03/2012 13:36

Last year, I found myself rushed to a hospital which (apart from the wine) totally resembled the Mumsnet prototype...

Madsometimes · 31/03/2012 13:45

I never go to A&E because all the ones I have been near follow the Jeremy Kyle model. Lots of drunks, people injured in fights, people shouting and swearing and always a minimum of a 4 hour wait. Horrid places.

Rochele · 31/03/2012 14:34

Home from emergency they took blood test and vaginal ultrasound and they said there is no baby.

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 31/03/2012 14:40

Rochele I am so, so sorry Sad

Is anyone with you at home?

ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 15:15

I am very sorry Rochele :(

DH and the kiddies should be back soon. It has been a long afternoon... I've read and been on iplayer and slept. Now need to start thinking about dinner [hungry] [eeeek].

kitten are you still there?

ohyouBadBadkitten · 31/03/2012 17:32

You've nearly made it BM :) How is the wound doing now?

I am here. We did get out briefly to pick up a clematis ( and yet more bark). Otherwise have sat watching telly and playing Angry Birds. I am getting very good At it Grin
Pulse is doing better - 62. Very tired and dizzy though. Dh has told me I'd be daft to go to church tomorrow. He is right. He's going abroad on business for a few days this week. Concerned, but lovely neighbours are on stand by.
