TMI warning: Is it possible to be constipated but still be going to the toilet every day?

I know it sounds bizarre but I just wondered if it is possible to be "bunged up", but still have normal(ish) bowel movements?

I've been to GP due to loose stools and feeling like I wasn't fully getting rid of everything - she did loads of blood tests including coeliac and they all came back negative. She gave me a diagnosis of IBS.

At the same time, I took it upon myself to do one of those York Tests, and it came back that I was sensitive to gluten and wheat. I told GP and she dismissed it as being not very reliable, but I stopped eating gluten and things started to "firm up" a bit! Grin

I don't eat bread or pasta but I am not super strict with no gluten, and my bowel habits tend to range from loose to solid and everything inbetween.

Anyway, I am just wondering if there is a possibility that you can have a build up of faeces on your insides, because I often feel a bit full, even after going to the toilet?

If so, has anyone ever had this and what can I do to help?

I eat quite a varied and healthy diet, but I do have a penchant for chocolate/crisps/bad stuff...

Yes it is, the loose goes around the blockage causeing unpleasentness.

Go back to your GP and if they wont help then see a different one.
