Menopause - how does it start?

My periods have started appearing every two to three weeks instead of the normal 4 weeks - is the first sign - dont know much about it?

Can be - everyone is different. This would then be interspersed with two or three months gaps for me. These have gradually lengthened. I last went six months, had 1 more, now it's about seven months.
