Drugs from hospital - not being given info re when to take and with what

Having had yet another long stint in hospital I was given a variety of yet more tablets, and have come home with another collection.

I was given the information sheets that on one particular drug sheet advised I shouldnt take with calcium or dairy products within two hours of taking tablets and because I have I had had chronic diarrhea (worse than normal)

Yet the nurses just give you twenty tablets and tell you to take them all at once, no consideration is given to how one drug can effect the performance of another. Then they wonder why I complain of severe stomach ache!

Am I just being paranoid. Do nurses know best or should I accept what the data sheets say? I have all these tablets I am supposed to take when I wake up and then another collection for throughout the day.

Have a word with NHS Direct. Doesn't sound very right to me and NO you are not paranoid.

Pop along with your meds to your local pharmacy and ask for advice that's what they are there for.
