Really really pleased for you
Have you had to fight to get it?

Marina · 01/02/2006 11:41

Fantastic news, about time too

lalaa · 01/02/2006 11:46

We did a pre-emptive PR strike in November - I was on television and stuff - while the application was made and I wrote them a stiff letter last week saying that the media wanted to do a follow up and could they please give me an answer because I wanted to respond.
So, haven't had to fight, but have done anyway, and I've definitely had to fight the system - NHS admin is appalling. PCT told me last week that they hadn't actually received an application which was a load of old cr*p. It took me banging heads together to get the answer.

It's such a relief not to have to gear myself up for a big fight.....can just concentrate on getting well.

Hi lalaa.Soooooooo pleased for you. May i ask you a question.Read someones post to you that Tamoxifen can stop efficincy if you are Her2 +ve. I was put straight on tamoxifen and as far as i know wasn,t tested for Her2.Should I question my oncolygist about this or is it correct that herceptin is best effective straight after chemo??. Anyway fab news for you Im so glad.

hoxtonchick · 01/02/2006 14:43

great news lalaa .

PeachyClair · 01/02/2006 14:56

YAY!!!!!!!

tamum · 06/02/2006 12:56

God lalaa, I missed this- only found it because I was looking to see if there was a discussion about Panorama last night. That's great news, well done

Evs09, it's not that Tamoxifen stops efficiency, just that Femara may be better if you are HER2 positive and ER positive. I would be inclined to ask to be tested for your HER2 status if it hasn't been done already, just so that you know. Good luck.

lalaa- Hi Hun.
Just wondering how you are keeping.
Hope all is well.

lalaa · 21/02/2006 14:46

Hello
Thanks for thinking of me. I've done my 5th chemo and the 6th and last one is on 7 March. I absolutely cannot wait to get that one done! It has become harder and harder to cope with the side effects of the chemo and am now planning to go into hospital for a couple of days after this final one. The last one was overwhelmingly awful, and it's very hard for dh to keep house, work and dd all going when I'm so ill. Apart from that I'm delighted that Spring is springing and am enjoying every day things that I used to take completely for granted.
