What do the hot spots on the scan mean? All over the joints-especially knee, shoulder, thumb and L knee ?

The hot spots mean that in those areas the bone cells are being replaced faster than in general. If its in lots of joints that could point to some sort of inflammatory arthritis, but it would be interpreted along with your clinical symptoms etc

Due for an EMG aswell.

Was just wondering if it was due to lots of contact sport in my teens?

Sorry, can't help there - I learnt to do those scans and the technology, but its not my specialist area
