Should I go back to the doctor?

At my doctors surgery you don't get an appointment without going through a triage nurse on the phone.

I rang up, explained that I was ill, that my children had chicken pox and that I seemed to have caught it too - despite having had it already as a child.

The nurse told me that it was possible to catch it twice, that I was going to feel awful, but they did not want me to come into the surgery as its very contagious.

He said the only reason to contact them again would be if I was having breathing trouble, or if I couldn't look at lights.

The thing is I haven't been able to eat, or even sit up without vomiting for five days now. I've lost over 10kg. I just don't seem to be getting better, although the spots are much improved, everything else is getting worse.

Should I call again on Monday? I'm slightly terrified of the triage nurse and hate booking an appointment at the best of times, let alone when I feel this bad and she has already told me they don't want to see me.
Sad

I would give NHS direct a call they can probably give you better direction.
Can you keep fluids down, or nothing at all? if you can't then that more serious than food and you should go and see someone or get them to come out to you.
CP in adults is generally worse than in children and can have have side effects - like pneumonia, septicaemia or meningitis : aversion to bright lights or breathing problems = big red flags for these.
Five days is not unusual but I'd speak to someone if you are worried.

Thank you, I can keep small amounts of fluids down for sometime (I've drunk a half a pint over the course of this morning and only been sick twice)

At least you are now getting the right care
I'm a fusspot about CP as I'm immuno-compromised and have never developed immunity (had it 5 timesSad) so would be directed straight to the hospital as it could be life threatening - but can understand what a dilemma it can be if your otherwise fit & healthy as it's often be down played as 'only' CP
Hope you start to feel better soon, take it easy
