randomly during the day my throat feels uncomfortable -I work my tounge around a bit and a bit of food will appear in my mouth so I pressume it's stuck under my tonsils

I had repeated tonsilitis as a teen but it's not something I get now but I do have big pitted tonsils

they aren't tonsil stones -it's definitely food

is there anything I can do to shrink my tonsils or do I have to go to the docs

I saw this on embarrassing bodies and unfortuately, the only solution was to have the tonsils removed.

I agree having them out is about the only option

ooo don't like the sound of that -I'm in my 30s -that's a pretty big op isn't it?

Had mine out last year at the age of 32. Not a pleasant op but so so worth it!

workshy · 08/03/2012 23:10

did you have them removed because of tonsilitis or another reason

I was refered at 14 for tonsilitis but I didn't get it often enough apparently (5 times a year for 3 years-yuck!)

I sometimes get this and foot stuck in a pitted bit of my tonsil. Its disgusting and usually have to get a kerbie grip to try and remove whilst trying my best not to gag. GP said it wasn't a good enough cause to get tonsils removed. Damn him

Tonsillitis and I had a quinsy. I actually didn't have tonsillitis that many times but because I was hospitalised with the quinsy I bypassed the referral process and consultant was all "oh let's just take them out so we don't see you again!" and bam six weeks later they were out. I used to get tonsil stones too so it's a blessing on many levels to see them gone!!
