af is aunty flo which means period apparently (no I had never heard of it before Mumsnet either).

Mooncups, you really don't want to know about.

modsaluk · 30/01/2006 21:02

mooncups are great, little plastic - er cups you pop in instead of tampons. much better for your vagina & also the environment & miles cheaper in the long run. aparently you can now get them in boots. how times change.

UCM · 31/01/2006 15:23

Apparently in medievil (sp)times women used to use half a lemon, so I have been told. So dunno if times change, I think that they just come around again!

Bozza · 31/01/2006 15:28

I think the sale of them in Boots is the times changing bit.

I have one and it is great. Particularly atm when it is in more or less constant use due to this implant. grr.

If you're past six weeks postpartum, they're fine to use.

Confession time. The first time I inserted a tampon after DS was born it just fell straight back out. No wonder I had an easy delivery with DD!

flutterbee · 31/01/2006 21:49

My AF cam 5 weeks after giving birth and I used tampax straight away, Lochia had stopped 2 weeks prior to this though.

Bozza
