Worried about Lochia / PN bleeding. Is this normal? TMI alert!

Sorry TMI alert but I need some reassurance I'm a bit worried.
Has anyone experienced or heard of Lochia getting heavier again? At about 4 weeks mine was yellowish brown, and I assumed it was coming to an end. Now(5 weeks) for the past 2/3 days it's been heavier (but not loads) and bright red again with some clots (like it was at 2/3 weeks) with no pain or smell. I've been to the doctors and she put me on antibiotics in case it's an infection and told me to rest. I'm not sure if it's because I've been even more active for the past yesterday and the day before with lots of pram pushing, but I was walking in the woods and wearing the sing the other week and everything was fine. Also I thought you didn't get periods if you BF and surely it's been to soon, so it can't be that can it. My doctor didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about, but from previous experiences of other doctors I don't really trust them 100%. What do you think?

Hi hun,

Mine did the same thing and I was fine. Are you a bit more stressed than normal (stupid question - you've just had a baby!) what I mean is has the past week been more stressful. I know it sounds silly but mine got heavier when I went through a nightmare patch with DS when he was 5 weeks old. It was probably just coincidence.

It is probably just your hormones still very all over the place.

Many congratulations to you sweetie! Make the most of your bundle of joy while they are so small and can't move. My DS is 20 months, keeps disappearing and is throwing tantrums all over the place. Ahhh the joys of being a parent

xx

Yes mine did this - so much so that I was most annoyed that my period had come back so early! But it stopped again for a good 9 months.

As you've been to the doctors I would follow her advice and try to rest (ha! ha! ha!)
