Large black/blue/purple painless bruises suddenly appeared should I be worried?

I have one black bruise on my calf from below my knee to mid point, i have one above my knee that goes around my thigh and DP noticed I have one in the small of my back about the size of a cricket ball today.

All are painless, but they look like I've been beaten up, they are the intensity of colour of a broken bone and are hideous!

Is it worth seeing a doctor about them? They have appeared suddenly, no injuries occured just massive black bruises.

I am on medication for fibromyalgia, could that have caused them?

Go to GP tomorrow

I had this and it was low platelets so I was bleeding under the skin. They will do a simple blood test and sort out what is causing it

Another vote for rapid GP attention - doesn't sound right at all .

Sounds like platelets, my dh has had lots of chemo which really knocked his platelet levels, bruises like mad.
