Skin on stomach feels like severe sunburn post op

hi,

4 days post appendectomy and drain/clean up of ruptured ovarian cyst. Abdomen was a bit of a mess, v distended.

I had a camera in through the belly button first, the wound and the skin around it are driving me utterly mental. The skin feels sunburnt, I can't bear anything touching it and the belly button bit is v sore.
Doesn't look infected, not noticeably red or oozing.

Any thing I can do to ease it? I really can't get comfy at all.

mini - I would get it checked out incase it is the beginning of cellulitis which you can get on your stomach after surgery. Can you ring the ward?

Hello! I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier, I have really strong painkillers so I keep forgetting things!

You were right, it is infected, I've got antibiotics so thank you very much for your advice. I called the doctor and they sent the nurse out to see me. I couldn't see as my belt was still really swollen from the gas they used but the wound in my belly button was pretty manky.
All healing now.
