Ankle ligaments - surgical repair?

I'm due to be admitted at the end of March to repair ligaments damaged by spraining my ankle last May.

Anyone had similar who could talk me through the op and recovery? Have pre-op assessment next Friday so would be great to have insight on questions to ask etc.

I need ligaments repairing in both ankles. I'm putting it off until I finish university in May 2014. I know it has a good success rate but my foot ortho surgeon told me that about another ankle op I had a year ago and I was the unlucky one!
