mild head injury 2 years ago still causing grief

After a painful bump to the head nearly 2 years ago, I suffered a lot of weird and wonderful symptoms that I was assured by various Dr's would go away after a couple of months.
However I still have frequent headaches, tingling in right arm, weakness in left leg, tiredness, often forget the right words and how to get them in the right order when speaking, and have generally become an irritable old bag.
I don't know what to do for the best now as it is not easy for my family and work is a major struggle at times. I know I am better off than many people but sometimes it just gets me down :-(

bump?

Can you demand referral and get brain scan. Tingles etc do not sound good! GP's don't know everything.

Don't think you should accept situation until it has been thoroughly investigated.

I had a brain scan about 18 months ago and was told it was completely normal. I try to accept that it the case but it's quite difficult with these weird things going on. I also had a couple of appointments with neuro consultant who said it would all go away by summer 11. Anxiety about the whole thing probably isn't helping :(
Work have so far been very patient with me but I am not sure how much longer they will be!

Well it hasn't gone away by summer 11 so that neuro-dude needs to reconsider his diagnostic by the sounds of it.

Stamp your feet and get yourself taken seriously - your date for improvement is long gone so no-one could say you were being unreasonable needing a review now.

Sure anxiety won't help - but hey - since when were mental ishoos dismissable - if that is the cause that needs dealing with too surely!

We only get one life and the quality of your life is being badly affected - just cos someone somewhere has it worse does not mean you should put up and shut up.

Give yourself a big love for having coped so far. Have a good chat to someone in RL about things and get yourself to some specialist or other for a thorough investigation.

Good luck - you deserve good health. :)
