Has anyone elses child got this horrible fluey bug that is going around?

Picked DD (nearly 5) up from school on Thursday and teachers said she had been miserable and burning hot. I dosed her up with calpol and she fell asleep on the sofa when we got home and she has barely been awake since . I have woken her to give her water and medicine and take her to the toilet and obviously put her to bed at night, all she wants to do is sleep, all day and all night - she hasn't eaten anything. Got her to the doctor this morning and he said a flu bug was going round and just give her calpol and nurofen. But I'm still worried about her .

hi, me too, i've got both dds home today. DD2 had two teeth out Monday after having a gum infection and was on AB's last week, so when school said she was feeling dizzy and sick I thought it was a reaction to all the work she had done earlier. Needless to say I was wrong!! she had a raging temp last night, was in bed shivering and boiling hot, proceeded to throw up at 3.30am and then 5, then 7, etc etc. DD1 came home yesterday saying "i've had a really bad head since 10 o'clock this morning and I feel really sick" so they are both snuggled up under duvets. DD1 has very large glands up in side of neck too!!

I read another article about this in the Times today, looks like the whole country will be down with it soon. Must run and panic-buy some Calpol .

Fimble - only just seen this. Hope your DD is better (and everyone elses). My DD only went back to school today, it really knocked the stuffing out of her, she's a little bag of bones, bless her. Really horrible bug.

Ive been in bed since saturday night,and this is the first i have surfaced.

Short lived though - im back off to bed!

I win I have four kids all off with it at the moment, I am healthy physically but am mentally going insane
