Allergic reaction to patch test-what can I use to soothe/heal?

had a patch test last Thursday behind the ear for an eyebrow tint. Unfortunately it's reacted quite badly and is now starting to weep. I did put hydrocortisone on it (was that a mistake?) and now it is weeping, itchy and quite sore.

What do you think I can put on it to soothe/heal the rash? Seems a bit extreme to go to the doctors for this but it's really painful

Can you ask the pharmacist if you can't get to the GP? I Took antihistamine tablets and used cortisone cream when I reacted to allergy challenge test but this sounds worse. You could try cooling it down too but take care to keep it clean.

Hydrocortisone and oral antihistamines will help the allergic reaction but it sounds like it might be infected...

Show it to the pharmacist, you might need antibiotic ointment.

Thanks for your replies

Just came back from town and should have just popped into the pharmacy while I was there! Will pop in after school run

It has stopped itching as much but still scabby and may be weeping (don't want to touch it too much as that starts the itching again! And of course is can't see it!)
