Can anyone reccommend a heart rate monitor please?

Well, I've searched the net and there are literally hundreds to choose from. How do I choose? I basically want something small, and that will tell me when my heart rate goes below or above what I want it to be during exercise. Waterproof for swimming would be a bonus but not neccessary.

And where do I get one from? I've been on websites of a few sprts shops in my area (eg JJB) but they don't seem to have them on their sites. Because I'm looking for something particularly small, unless someone can reccommend one then I think I'll need to see/try one on.

Can anyone help please?

Can't help with any recommendations but
Bourne Sports is a specialist sports shop near to me. They do a good online and mail order service and you can return stuff. They may be able to help you over the phone - I get my running shoes from there and the staff seem very knowledgeable.

Polar used to be the best. Any Polar model is good quality. Decide how much you want to spend & what features you want, go from there.
