eye drops - can feel going down the back of my throat!!

really weird, i have been given by dr some optrex 'infected eye drops' to take as i have an eye infection. never experienced this before but about five minutes after dh puts two drops in my left eye i can actually feel/taste the medicine at the back of my throat, REALLY weird. i didn't know the eye was connected in that way. anyone else experienced this?

Some people snort milk up their nose and it come out of their eyes.

thanks candy - i didn't know the eye was connected. i just phoned the pharmacist at our local chemist as the box says in bold not to be taken orally. he said the way to stop it is to stick your finger in the corner of the eye as it blocks a duct although it didn't matter if it didn't work. taste disgusting!!

Horrendous isn't it? I remember having his with eye drops and the taste was foul!

Its tastes awful! But the trick of gently blocking the tear drainage ducks ( the holes you can see on the inner corrner of the lower eye lid) works.
