I do get it occasionally, but today I've got it worse than ever before - and it goes down the front inside of my thigh as well as down the back/outer side. Under my foot tingles, and the inside of my knee feels as though its been scalded (nerve pain). Its hard to walk, woke me up in the night, and worse after sitting.
It was a bit dodgy earlier in the week, so I saw my osteopath on Tuesday, who did a bit of work on it and said my pelvis was out of alignment, but better by end of the treatment: not so now!
Paracetamol only helps for about half an hour.
Any tips?

You need some gp strenght meds, any voltarol in the house?
Bath with some radox or clary sage
Dh to do washing up
If your really uncomfortable you could have dh apply some gentle traction. Lye on you back and have him pull gently on the offending leg. It should not be a yank, just a constant pressure which may help to unpinch the nerve.
Dont suppose you've got a tens machine???

In my experience, although osteopath and chiropractor help I have found physiotherapy more effective.

They give you exercises so that you can manage it yourwelf at home...

Tens machine...yes, I think I might, somewhere: good idea, thanks! Also voltarol and physio, if still this bad tomorrow I'll try and get both lined up.
DH is pulling his weight admirably, but not sure I fancy him pulling my leg...
Thanks both, it helps to have new ideas.
