sickness bug - when can I eat?

DH and I were both up last night with sickness and diarrhoea, on the hour every hour. I started at midnight, DH started at about 4 am.

I stopped being sick at 8 am this morning and haven't felt sick since about 10 am. Have drunk as much as I can today which has stayed down. I am starving now!! Is it ok to eat dry toast and dry breadsticks yet? Does anyone know? Don't want to set the whole thing off again!

I am never as cautious as you about eating and tummy bugs - I just dig into what I feel like! but bread will be absolutely fine - they recommend the BRAT diet for kids with tummy bugs - bread, rice, apples toast (I think)!

rice with peas in it. just a little

If you're hungry then try something to eat - see how it goes.

Yes try toast and then if you manage to keep that down, something light - scrambled eggs?? keep off the dairy.
Hope you're feeling better soon

Ah thanks you lot. The breadsticks seem to be staying down so far. Wow Blueteddy - you've got a good memory! Maybe so. I am still trying to work out if its food poisoning. How can you tell the difference? I suppose we will just have to wait and see if the rest of the kids get it!!
