how long could a cold last?

24 weeks old dd woke up with blocked nose and no appetite (for 2 days) three weeks ago. sneezing so bad that blood was coming out of nose and throat...NHS direct / on call doctor said not to worry and we left it at that. it cleared up after 7 days but only for a day or so then came back

now 3 weeks later.....excema which was previously minor now major, nose still blocked (though less sneezing and less poorly looking), apetite back, but still congested. Also a slight nappy rash fomring.

could this now be due to teething, or do colds last this long in babies and is now just generally running down her immune system?

tommorow switching to goats milk formula (nanny's) since i feel that intolerance to cows milk could be a factor (she doesn't particulary like cows formula milk anyway)....its safe to switch i presume??

so so many different questions but all related i feel

any comments appreciated........

Could she have had more than one cold? I'm afraid that lots of babies get one cold after another during their first winter and this often combines with teething and it can be quite hard on them. Does she mix much with other children?

I would take her to the dr. I don't think the cold is anything to worry about, but I wonder if you really need to switch her milk. dd got excema as a baby, had a steroid cream for a bit and it cleared up. she had sensitive skin for a while but has now totally grown out of it.
