Devil spit.

I can't cope with air fresheners. They make me feel really ill. Plug-in ones have me reaching for the Ventolin.

You're not supposed to use anything like this if your asthmatic. Not even joss sticks/candles (according to the nice lady in the Body Shop).

HugeFurryWishingStool · 19/02/2012 23:42

Lots of perfumes have a neuro-toxic effect! Why poison the air you breathe? Awful things.

giraffesCantDonateBoneMarrow · 19/02/2012 23:51

I was staying at a friends lastnight and she had them, back in my own house now but lungs seem to still be feeling the effect.

I don't understand how people can breathe them in all the time.

They give me a headache, some perfumes do too. I don't know whats in them but I don't like it!

magso · 20/02/2012 14:14

Oh yes make me wheezy too.

shelldockley · 20/02/2012 14:32

Some are stronger than others I think but anything like that is going to have chemicals in that are bad for your lungs. My sil used to spray air freshners directly above lo after changing his nappy, guess what, he now has asthma:(

RubberDuck · 20/02/2012 14:43

I know the chemicals in them can be responsible for killing tropical fish, so whatever is in them can't be good :(

mousymouseafraidofdogs · 20/02/2012 14:47

they make me wheezy too and give me a headache. what's wrong with opening windows for fresh air?

ihearthuckabees · 20/02/2012 16:46

I have heard they've even been linked to depression!

Bunbaker · 20/02/2012 20:30

When we had our last house rewired the electrician said that plug in air fresheners were really dangerous and were often the cause of house fires.

hiddenhome · 20/02/2012 20:31

My next door neighbour must have dozens because when she opens her back door my back garden ends up stinking and I have to go inside Sad Really, it's that strong, even dh complains about the smell from her house. They make me feel very nauseous and headachy. They contain neurotoxins.

oreocrumbs · 20/02/2012 20:34

I've heard that too Bunbaker, they shoudn't be allowed.
