I am booked to have an umbical hernia repair op this week and have just seen a picture on the internet of a repair which shows a bloody great scar under the belly button!!!. I tend to scar badly anyway and am now terrified of the scar I might end up with. Can the nhs do key hole surgery for this? Has anyone had this repair op, please tell me what your scar is like. The surgeon did say my hernia is small but I would rather have an outty belly button then a bloody great scar!
