DS2 9 months, has had tonsilitis and has been on antibiotics since saturday morning. Seemed to be perking up and was much better yesterday and today and started being much more settled at night.

But suddenly about 1/2 hour ago he was sick, quite a lot, and then again about 15 mins later. He doesn't have a temperature. None of us have had tummy bugs and we haven't been anywhere or seen anyone because we have all had tonstilitis.

Shall I feed him? He is due his tea and bottle soon. Why do you think he is being sick? Seems quite happy in himself. Help.

I wouldn't give him his milk, but give him his tea, particularly if it's quite bland. I would also call NHS Direct as well.

Think antibiotics can sometime make you a bit sick. Or milk intolerance? My ds developed an intolerance to milk at about the same age when he had an infection. As he got better and recovered his appetite, the more milk he drank, and the more he and threw up. Stopped instantly when stopped cows milk. The intolerance lasted for quite a few years, and I could always tell if he had been given milk or yogurt by mistake at nursery or someones house as he got the runs. My suspicions were always confirmed. He is a teenage now and consumes milk by bthe bucket full.

Hope its not milk intolerance! DS1 had that!

If it was the antibiotics making him sick would it take 4 days to happen? Have just given him a bland tea and we are all watching him like hawks! Please don't let it be a tummy bug! Thats all I need!

Am used to tonsilitis and symptoms of btw. I get it at least once a year! I am sure he has not been sick because of that because he is at the tail of that illness now. Am at a loss if its a tummy bug cos we haven't seen anyone!!

Yes, i would carry on with the a-b's and ask the doc if it persists.
ds1 and ds2 both developed an intolerance to milk - eczema for ds1, the runs for ds2.

If your ds has had tonsilitis, it is normal for them sometimes to be sick this is because the tonsils produce pus and mucus which is swollowed. (This in not a bad thing if he's well otherwise) Its usually their wee bodys way of getting rid of rubbish like that from their tummy. Plenty fluids and as the other posters say, bland food.
