a question about poo - it's ok though, it's not detailed!

It suddenly occurred to me this morning, that we don't eat brown food all the time and yet our poo is always brown (or mainly anyway). Why is that i wondered and realised i didn't know. Or if I did know, then I'd forgotten.

So, my question is simply, why is our poo predominantly brown?

TIA

It's the effect of bile and bilirubin in the digestive tract that turns it all brown !

Ohhh! I've wondered this too. Sometimes carrotts stay orange, red, green peppers, sugared almonds very rare.
