Anyone ever suffered from agoraphobia(sp)?

And recovered from it?

I have a friend who suffers quite badly (can't even go out on her own to get a pint of milk from the local shop) and I don't really know how to help her.

She has had several professionals try, but they didn't 'cure' her.

Any advice would be grateful.

Tx

Embarrassing to admit I watch daytime TV (cringe cringe) - but did you see "The Test" they featured an agrophobic who was given a days worth of intensive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, it seemed to help her a lot.

Thanks for that Lubieloo.

I didn't see the programme but have heard of this type of therapy.

I'll look into it.

Saddo that I am I've just watched "The Test" again - not that I quite fancy the bloke that presents it or anything! they have a website which has a fact sheet about Agoraphobia it's quite good and has lots of contacts, worth looking at.

Good luck.
