Can you have UTI with no burning pain?

Think I have UTI,tender lower back,twinges in my bladder,generally feel rough and my urine was dipped at the GP this morning and had a trace of blood,some white cells,and some protein so I am on anti-biotics. But I don't have the burning when having a wee,and last time I had these symptoms, about two years ago,a culture showed nothing up-so could it be something else ?

I get a lot of uti and I don,t always get the stinging

I had a UTI in Nov with the twinges, aching, tiredness etc and no 'weeing knives' feeling!

My doc thinks I'm weird cause I can tell him I've just got a uti kind of feeling freaks him out and I'm always right. No typical pain

I had a couple while pregnant that I didn't notice in the same ways I would usually. So yes, I reckon you can.

Oh glad I'm not alone.I Hate taking anti-biotics but have taken two doses anyway now so I will have to finish them.I half wondered if I should have waited longer to see how it went but actually I do feel pretty grotty. Doc sent off urine to check kidney function-is that usual too?

I had exactly same symptoms but tests were negative for infection.Dr gave me antibiotics three times but symtoms weren't really improving. Eventually sent for ultrasound that showed a large fibroid pressing on my bladder.

I get UTIs without the burning - just need the loo ALL the time. However, I also get that symptom without a UTI. I bought a pack of urine test strips so if I get the frequent urination I test at home to see if I need to get ABs or not. Hope yours gets sorted.

Yes. I get a dull ache in my bladder and frequent urination. Only ever had burning once with a UTI.

I've had four doses of the anti-bs now and still feel much the same-shouldn't they have started working by now? (I've only just taken the fourth tablet.)

I am taking antibiotics to get rid of my urine infection, that my GP said that i have got. My wee does not burn or sting when i wee, its just a heavy feeling where i don`t know what to.Best thing though is water and cranberry juice.
