Anyone had gall bladder removed?

My mum had hers removed last Tuesday and is still uncomfortable. Pain between shoulder blades in back etc. She has very low threshold for pain but just wondered if anyone else took a while to recover from having theirs removed. It was done under keyhole surgery and she is having stitches removed on Thurs btw.

Yes. I would say I had a tender abdomen for about 2 weeks.

Had mine done about 4.5 years ago, by keyhole surgery, and although I didn't suffer in this way, I seem to remember reading that they kind of inflate your abdomen while they're doing the operation , and that this can cause this sort of pain afterwards. Hope I'm remembering right, and not giving you duff information. Hope she feels better soon.

Yes my cousins DH had his removed just over a week ago, he's still very unwell, but then it was removed (through open surgery) because of gangrene.

I had mone removed about 4.5yrs ago. I remember being stiff straight afterwards.
The pain in the shoulder blades sounds like from when they put extra gas in your body to make it easier to get the gall bladder out.
