Hi everyone

I may be overreacting but I'm worried about my period. I'm on the pill (have been for years) and out of the blue came on early this month (about 3 days). I haven't missed a pill. Today I checked with the nurse who said that it was unusual but occasionally due to hormone fluctuation this happens. Anyway, I've been on for a week now and am not sure if this is related, but today my period has been getting heavier and heavier to the extent that a tampon just lasted about 3 minutes before I started 'leaking' (sorry to be graphic) and there are quite a few small blood clots. I've never experienced anything quite like it. Has anyone one elsze? Do you think its worth contacting a doctor? Just before it started getting really heavy I had a hot bath, not sure if this contributed. I am really worried - advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

The hot bath may have effected the heaviness but I would just contact a Dr anyway even if just to put your mind at rest

Have never experienced this countrylass but would advise you to make an appointment with your Gp. I'd suggest that anything unusual for your body should be checked out if only to put your mind at rest. All the best

How is the bleeding now country lass?

countrylass · 23/01/2006 20:26

Thankfully it has gone back to 'normal' but I've got alot of pain in my lower back - at least the really heavy bleeding has stopped, it was so strange to leak so quickly with a tampon in.

TMI, after a bath water can hid in your bits and then seep out making it seem like there more blood than there is. Prob time for a wee visit to the fpc for a smeer and check up though...
