I know antibiotics strip your body of all bacteria, good and bad. What is it you can take to replace the friendly bacteria? Do you have to wait until you have finished the course of antibiotics to take it and can children take it too? Anyone know?

Probiotics, which you can get from health stores as tablets, powders etc or in "live" yoghurt and drinks like actimel. Yes kdis can take them but be careful to ensure any owders/tablets are suitable fro the age. Start while you are taking the ab's and it may help ward off a runny tummy side effect or at least mitigate it, and continue afterwards to restore the balance.

How long do you have to drink them for after the course of antibiotics for them to do their job?

At a guess, as long as the course of ab's as a minimum. I still take them several months on anyway. I'm sure the health food store could advise better.
