Since Christmas (and maybe a bit before) I have been feeling pretty rank. Just tired, off and a bit moody.

I have bleeding between my periods. This month proper bleeding. In previous months a bit of spotting. My cycle is out by a few days here and there. Have been to GP and am awaiting a scan and gynea referral. Upon examination could see nothing untoward.

I am about 10 days from my next period and already for a week I have had tender boobs - which I get usually a few days before my period. This time however my left boob is excruciatingly painful, not just tender. I have gone up a bra size despite loosing 11lbs (because I am on Slimmingworld) in January. Both boobs feel big and swollen and very very lumpy. I have a history of lumpy boobs and breast clinic referrals but have never had anything quite so drastic as this. My left breast just feels like a cluster of hard sore lumps.

My appearance is shit. Despite being on a bit of a health kick now for 5 weeks. My hair is just not right. Feels odd and wont style like usual (despite a good cut from my usual lovely hairdresser - who even commented on the crap condition of my hair).

I have spots - not a pizza face (yet) but enough to make me feel crap. My cheeks looks red and flushed all the time and I just have a blotchy skin. I have a good regular skin routine that I have not changed recently. I also have very dry patches inbetween my red pustule type spots.

My eyes look bloodshot and tired.

I am sleeping OKish . I have not slept well for years but recently I am sleeping better. I may not get off easily but get a good 6 or 7 hours most nights.

I swim 3 times a week and Gym 3 times a week. I have 1 day a week off excercise. I eat a good basic low fat balanced diet (slimming world - which I have followed for 9 years on and off). I am overweight but no massively. I am a size 12 to 14 at the mo and am aiming to get back down to the 10 I was last summer.

I am spending an increasingly amount of time pampering myself atm in the hope it will benfit me but am not seeing any results yet.

I have started to take Metatone tonic that contains vitamins and iron - the box says it gives a boost at times of illness or whilst recovering.

I have IBS - but apart from a really bad month in Novemeber to mid December with it (stress related) I have it under control and I am the best I have ever been wit IBS in 20 years. I am on longterm movicol through my consultant and GP and have been for 18 months.

I am 39.

You could very well be lacking in vitamins, and although you are taking supplements the vitamins are going to take a while to build back up. Also if you have been very stressed, it may well be the stress taking its toll on you. As to your hair, maybe wear a swimming cap and your spots could be to do with being run down or swimming if you have newly started it! I was feeling run down and tired and like you suffer from problems with my stomach, although mine is pcos, but seems to be affected by stress as well. I went to the doctor and had blood tests done as they were worried it could be that my anti depressants for PND were not working, the bloods actually came back that i am low in vitamin b12, which i have now had injections for and feel much better. Please make a note, becauser vit b12 is found i most animal produce, and it may well be that for whatever reason your body is not absorbing it from your food, and therefore will not absorb it from your tablets aparently. So the only way to get it into your system is by injections. Its at least worth a check. Vitamin b12 also helps with the breakdown of fat, which could have caused you to put weight on. At any rate a talk with your doctor will not hurt.

Thank you Ellen.

I was surprised my GP didnt do bloods last week when I went about my periods to check hormone levels if anything else. I was hoping he may have done.

Looking back throughout Novemeber and the start of December I was very very stressed and maybe its catching up with me now.

I will give it another week or so and if I have no improvement I will go back to my GP. I just feel a bit embarrassed to go back as I have been a fair bit recently and I have so many symptoms/weird things going on - I probably sound like a mad woman.

Will bare in mind the B12 thing.

I was at my gp's at one point at least once a week, to sort me out! It felt like i was either at the hospital or doctors and that i should have it as a second home. Better to get it sorted out!
