Hi can anyone recommend an Endometriosis specialist in the London area.

Very long story and it?s not mine to tell but friend needs to see one desperately.

Despite having had laparoscopy and being ?the worst case? the Gyne had ever seen; her pain and the inability of her current medication to control her pain is being dismissed.

She basically being told to get on with it we have a diagnosis so what?s your problem. . .

The thing is she is a get on with it type person; pre op she was still managing to work full time.

Her current consultant isn?t an endometriosis specialist.

And you could trawl around various specialists without finding one that is actually good. So I?m hoping that someone here can recommend one or two to at least start researching them

Thanks in advance!

Now part way helpful
The gyne doc at Beneden hospital in Kent is an endo specialist.
He removed mine.
He requested tissue samples for a study he was performing.
Assume this makes him v interested in the topic.
Can't remember his name tho. Sorry
Google and come back to me

Beneden is a sort of private hosp tho

I would suggest either contacting the free helpline or the putting a post on the forum of the Endometriosis Association

I am a Naturopath specialising in women's health and fertility. Having worked with many women with endometriosis there is alot that can be done naturally. It depends on how willing the person is to follow the treatment suggested as there are lifestyle and nutritional changes that need to be made. It is all well and good having surgery but if the underlying reason for endometriosis is still there, its likely to return. I'm happy to chat to explain in more detail, as the natural route is so unknown. www.healthewomb.co.uk or www.naturalfertilityprogram.co.uk will provide more info...and obviously my contact details

There is also an endometriosis organisatiorn think its called SHE...not sure of website but Google it.
Its so sad that whilst she is suffering the docs telling her to get on with it...a little more compassion would be nice.
hope this helps :-)

Jan de vries (natural health guru) helped my sister when she was diagnosed with serious endo and told she would never have kids. She now has three btw!

She also went to Professor Janesh Gupta Who is a specialist in Birmingham.

You can google both for contact details etc GoodLuck
