I've got a cold and completely lost my sense of smell

Any ideas how long it will take to come back? Obviously I have googled it and found out that it can be permanent, but realistically will it be back when the cold goes?

It should come back when the cold clears up. If not go and see your gp as there may be inflammation high up in your nose. This happened to me and i lost my sense of smell and taste for months. The dr prescribed a nasal spray called Nasonex which worked wonders.

good luck

But surely this always happens when you get a cold???! It does whenever I get one. Of course it'll come back when the cold goes Smile.

It's coming back as the cold is gradually getting better. Thanks for the responses.
