Blood tests for children

Not wishing to start an MMR debate at all but in case anyone is in the same boat as me......

DS had measles and rubella at the now famous Dr Pugh's clinic in Elstree. We decided finally to have his blood tested to check if he does show any trace of the vaccine before making our decision about re-vaccination.

We arranged the tests via Direct health 2000 and we attended the Doctor's Laboratory in London.
The nurses were fantastic and DS's blood was taken quickly and with only a small whinge. Ds watched the whole thing while I was facing the wall with my hands over my eyes - what a wimp I am!

We had been led to believe that it would be a traumatic and difficult thing to do and I would like to share our positive experience here in case anyone else is in the process of doing the same thing.

considering sigle measles and rubella vaccines for ds with direct health 2000
any further comments?

that's what we'll be doing if the blood test shows that DS has not been vaccinated properly already. I know a few people who have used Direct Health 2000 and have been happy with the service etc but then I knew a few people who recommended Dr Pugh!

glad to read that mckenzie, we will hopefully be testing dd in a few years to see if she needs any boosters! popsycal, my dd got measles and rubella singles with Direct health 2000 and they were great! Explained everything, great with dd and no fuss at all! We are still waiting for the mumps though as they have been unable to get supplies
