Storing excessive body weight and the impact after quick weight loss

My famiily have always gone on about when being overweight you have weight to lose if you are ill and I had got extremely overweight due to overeating over last few years.

Due to recent illness I have lost 20kg this year, most in last six months and down to a really good slim weight and look great, but of course everyone now says I am underweight and need to put some back on.

Downside, my huge bum which is now flat has really saggy flaps and there are saggy arms and legs with skin just dripping off my body.

I am not physically capable of activity at the moment to excercise, walking is extremely hard so doing toning exercises seem a long way away.

For those experienced with this will the skin settle down?

The weight loss was mainly caused by lack of eating and I was being fed articifical tube through a tube in hospital for many many weeks.

Are your family all overweight perchance? Don't listen to them, they are talking rubbish (and sound jealous).

I'm afraid once the skin has lost elasticity it is unlikely to go back. But you are faaaaar better off with saggy skin than being overweight. If it really really bothers you then you might want to look into surgery to get it fixed.

If you had bad eating habits before you got ill you need to make sure you don't go straight back to them. Make sure you have a healthy diet now.

May I ask your height and weight? Do you know your bmi? This will tell you if your family is right.

BMI is now within normal but because I lost so much weight too quickly the hospital (and family) want me to put weight back on

I look normal now, no bones showing but am eating quantities of a two year old not normal adult portions. I have to eat more to help repair parts of my body that have been damaged with chemical treatments. So its going to be a battle me thinks!

Sounds like the hospital have got you/need to get you on a diet plan of some sorts?

Don't worry about the skin for now. Just concentrate on getting back to full strength :)

Yep. Diet plan. Lots of protein. Low Fibre. Fluids. Monitored constantly. Have to do food intake diary which gets scrutinised. No this, no that, no the other.
