Cerezette for teenage girl?

Dd 15 has horrendously heavy periods.
She was on Microgynon for about 8 months last year, which made no difference at all, so she has come off it.
We are going to the drs tomorrow...she is having blood tests to check if there's anything amiss.
The dr mentioned Cerezette (sp?)...has anyone got a teenager who is using it?

As a teenager I knew several girls who were put on Cilest for heavy periods, that is a combined pill though.

Now, I am on cerazette and it has low complications I think, I have had no problems but obv it is different for every person. I have never had heavy periods particularly but they are non existent now - which is a known side effect

I would see if the GP is prepared to refer your DD to a gynae to see if the actual cause of the heavy periods can be determined. This is particularly important as well if the period is painful as well as heavy. It is all very well treating the symptoms but the cause needs to be determined too. Both fibroids and or endometriosis for instance can cause heavy bleeding. Some GPs can be pretty much useless when it comes to such issues and you do not want to be messed around with in ignorance.

Blood tests may or may not prove useful here; it wont for instance detect either fibroids or endo.
