Remember me i said that my dd had an accident xmas eve? she was climbing for a balloon and the dvd cabinet fell on her(yes it should have been bolted to the wall but has been there for a year and no accident) she cut under her chin open.
Well last week i got a call from the hv threatening me if it happens again i was so angry. She said that all health profesionals work closley well i went to my gp ans she new nothing i had to tell her, gp later rang and apologised for the threat. then on the thursday i get a call from school someone at play time ran into dd and she has a big black eye, and today another week she has tummy ach and vomitting................. She is sitting putting clips in dads hair at the mo.

what did u threaten with? HV are generally informed of any hospital admissions (dd1 swallowed a hair clip at 9months old, HV was informed after i took her to a and e). but they shouldnt make threats.

Mud · 17/01/2006 19:02

ok. i would demand an apology fom hv and report her ot superiors

HV threatened that if dd had an accident like this again she would have to take it further i mean she is 4 and active or should i put her infront of the tv???? I got an apology from the gp i am going to see the HV this week.

that "if my dd has an accicent like this again she would have to take it further. i said she was free tro come and do a home visit ans speak to my dd her teachers the A&E staff who did not have a problem with the incident. I am seeing her on Friday dd is going for jabs.

My dd is 4, she has had a broken leg, black eyes, black teeth, bust lips, swollen cheekbones and bruises, knocked out by falling off her bike and currently has her arm in a cast as she has broken both bones and needed surgery to fix em (phew).
I follow her round like her shadow, im 2 steps ahead of her all the time but she still manages to be the clumsiest kid in the world!
And thats all it is - clumsy - i would be appalled if my hv suggested anything other than this and i think you need to take it up with her and ask her to explain what she meant before you start having doubts about your parenting. I think she has really crossed the line here to make a comment like that with nothing to back up her argument iyswim

poor you, id feel really paranoid for any scratch or tiny bruise she d get now. hope you get an apology for your worry.x

Today my dd had a sore throat so i kept her off school. I rang the GP and he was so lovely he said he would come over after surgery. Well he did and brought the HV with him she was very red faced and apologised. I feel angry still but a bit better than i did.
