Could I have PCOS after I've had my children and with a mirena coil?

I seem to have all the symptoms, thinning hair on top, facial acne at certain times on my chin, huge cyst angry whoppers (am I am 40 ffs!!) am overweight and a bit too hairy, umm you know where. And bloody skin tags and getting more!!

I had endometriosos before the children, now 4 and 9, which improved after children but started to creep back in the last 18 months hence the mirena coil to stop periods and of course contraception. I love the Mirena and have had no issues with it; can it cause PCOS?

What do you think and if I have what can be done about it?

Side effects of mirena according to my leaflet can include hairy face, acne and weight gain (joy).

I have pcos, about 20% of women do but we're not all symptomatic.

Could you have your coil taken out? you could just have a normal coil.

No I love my coil, no mind numbing cramps for days on end, using two tampax at a time and a pad and still being horrified of leakage, planning life around heavy hideous periods. My life has been fab without the monthly curse!

are you done with having babies? An ablation is a wonderful thing - no periods and none of those horrible hairy/acne symptoms either. DOne under general in hospital, I had very few symptoms post op (one day of cramping) and felt amazing after having the mirena out - like a massive weight being lifted, when I didnt know it was even there.
