Really painful sinuses and now started a bit of a wheeze

DH is nagging me to go the doctors as I've had a cold for 2 weeks and had painful sinuses for most of it. Now they've got really painful - keeping me awake and can't bend down without pain - I don't think its worth seeing the doctor as I doubt they can do much for this. I've also just started a bit of a wheeze/rattle when breathing - not enough to mean I'm having any trouble breathing but just so I know its there.

I'm already breathing in steam and taking sudafed. TMI alert below:

TMI - whilst trying to unblock sinuses yesterday after steam I was having lots of yellow phelegm out.

Could be an infection. Antibiotics may genuinely be needed.

Keep up the steam inhalation though, it will help.

A word of caution - sinus infections if left untreated can in very rare cases be extremely serious and risky...the infection, being so close to the brain, can travel into brain tissue........my GP told me this.
