Come join me if you want...

I have a lot of weight to lose, a LOT. I lost a stone in December but I've not lost (or put on) anything over Christmas / New year and I'm struggling to get back in the swing of things so hopefully this will motivate me.

if I'm feeling brave I might also make a note of what exercise I've taken

Wish me luck!!

I'd like to lose stones and stones...

So far today I've had:

Breakfast: greek yogurt with drizzle of honey and a spoonful of granola

Snack: (oops) crisps

Lunch: 2 boiled eggs with toast

Not sure what I'm having for dinner. I don't eat pasta much but do have bread. Am also a vegetarian.

I like the idea of the quorn fillet wrap, may try that once dh has been paid - kind of having a 'eat what's in the cupboard or do without' kind of month!

Agree myfitnesspal is a great help. Some if the foods on the list can be a bit hit & miss (some have no fat listed, or wildly inaccurate calories) but the iPhone app for it has a barcode scanner which is v useful.

Hi all,

I measured out all the yògurt etc don't worry, I'm very precise - came in at 300 calories.

Dinner: one quorn lamb grill, portobello mushroom with stirfried vegetables

Today I've had

Breakfast: Peach & pear fruit pot
Lunch: 3 Ryvita with extra light Philadelphia & a little apple and pear chutney. Weightwatchers Lemon Tart yoghurt, packet of Walkers Sunbites
Tea: grilled chicken breast topped with salsa, baked potato with low fat creme fraiche & broccoli
Supper: probably a few slices of wafer thin chicken or ham, light Babybel, beetroot, etc

I'm sure you can have twice as much muesli as granola, yummy though it is, for the same calories. Isn't granola just sugar coated muesli?

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 11/01/2012 19:13

That's as maybe but I don't like muesli in yogurt cos it goes all mushy

I don't like tofu much it always seems a bit like rubber to me - any tips?

Didn't go out, too skint, so I had quorn fillers, portobello mushroom + veg. 2 satsumas too.

Today:

Breakfast - 2 slices of toast with strawberry jam

Lunch - 2 slices of cheese and marmite on toast; few bits of dried fruit; 1 kit kat

Snack - 3 biscuits

Dinner - 2 sweet potatoes, 2 peppers, 1 courgette and 1 red onion roasted in a little olive oil with a little cheese; apple crumble and custard; 2 large glasses of red wine

Zero exercise today

Now I see it all written down, it helps me see why the Xmas extra pounds aren't shifting. I'm trying to eat less, drink less and exercise more so I've failed on all three fronts today. The only achievement today was that I haven't eaten any crisps .....

Flapjack is also full of fat and sugar. Fruit would be better.

Brunch : 2 eggs and toast. Don't normally eat so many eggs but they are one of the few things I can face this week I am feeling very strange and tired and sicky. Yuck.
Snack: kitkat - now, I know its not ideal, nor is a flapjack, but I'm trying to ease into this slowly for the above reasons. Also, calorie wise its ok. I'm doing no crisps / chocolate from Monday until Easter.

Thanks for the tip re the tofu, ill give it a shot.

Does anyone know any nice pates you can buy / easily make? Tesco used to sell a lovely moroccan chickpea one but none of the recipes I've tried for it are as nice and I don't like the cauldron mushroom one. I used to love pate with veg + ricecakes - really filling.
