What kind of symptoms should I expect after MMR in 2yo?

ds hasn't had his MMR yet. I intend to do it in the next couple of months.
I've heard that a temp sometimes follows the injections. Is it immediate - or a couple of days later. eg should I have the injection Fri so am at home at weekend for temp or beginning of week so that temp hits the following weekend??
Also is it now common practise that the MMR is mercury/thimerosol ?? free? (May be wrong about this bit completely!)

High temp but not for 6-12 days after the jab. Also can get snotty etc and a rash. don't know about the other bit sorry!

MMR has always been thimersol free [as far as i know] Concerns about MMR are to do with giving 3 live vaccines at same time, not thimersol.

i mean thimerosol!

DS had a mild cold about 7 - 10 days after the jab. Could just have been coincidence, but I suspect not. With minor symptoms, I think they are more likely to come on a few days after the jab.

DS had it at 15 months and was very, very grizzly for about a week from 10 days post-jab (he had an Men C as well). he threw up during the night, but only once.
