Sorry if tmi, but periods are getting heavier and clots bigger, several the size of a tablespoon,. Is this normal as one ages? I was told I had a few smallish fibroids when I had my last child 3 yrs ago.

How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Go to GP

I am 44. Yesterday I was grocery shopping, felt a plop, and had to waddle to toilet to flush the clot away!

Several of my friends are of a similar age and say their periods are heavier now

44 here too, and I have had exactly the same thing over the last couple of years. It is more common than people realise.

But there are many causes and many possible solutions, so do go and see your doctor.

I was having very heavy and clotted periods and have since had the implant fitted. I bled for about 3 weeks at the beginning and since then they have stopped. I have been so happy despite still having a few period symptoms (painful boobs, bad mood) because I know I can go anywhere and do anything without worrying about leaking or flooding.
