my DH's friend has had this done and DH now seems to be considering it.
Does anyone have any experience of this?

i think secretly i would love to experience it. but the whole 'up the bum' thing scares the c**p out of me.

NO PUN INTENDED !!!!

It's dangerous and unnecessary. Potential risks include a perforated bowel which would be a very, very serious problem - even life-threatening.

If someone has enough time on their hands to be worrying about the state of their colon, they need either a. a hobby or b. to eat a healthy diet that gets their guts moving. Or both.

why would anyone WANT an enema?

MeerkatsUnite · 14/01/2006 21:34

I would agree with Edam here.

Your DH should be made aware of the following:-

Colonic irrigation, which also can be expensive, has considerable potential for harm. The process can be very uncomfortable, since the presence of the tube can induce severe cramps and pain. If the equipment is not adequately sterilized between treatments, disease germs from one person's large intestine can be transmitted to others.

yes, DH & I went on a 2 week detox/yoga holiday & had colonics about 3 times a day.

I have to say we did them ourselves - after only drinking freshly juiced fruit & taking numerous bulking tablets...bentonite clay, pysilium husks etc.

We felt fab !

HI Alibubbles, sorry for the delay ( I am, ironically suffering from piles at the mo & couldn't face reply )

we had these plastic boxes which were mounted on the wall, with a tube & a couple of valves. You turned the valve to get the water flowing, applied k-y jelly to the tip & off you went. You are sat on the loo & just 'hold on' until bursting point, the just let it all go. Great ! I keep thinking we should put something together as it's so effective.

The holiday we went on is

Moinhos Velhos
