Membrane like clots in menstrual blood, Advice needed

TMI alert, sorry, but I'm a bit worried and need advice. Blush

I've been on the pill for about a two years, I decided to stop for many reasons in October/November, I had a period and a month later had another normal, naturally occurring, period.

Then, just before Christmas, I realised that I had to go away at a time when my period was due and the circumstances were very inconvenient. Because of this I decided to start taking the pill again to postpone my bleeding.

I've just finished the pack now and have started my period again, but although I've always had small clots, I'm finding much larger pieces of, I don't know, membrane? They're not as dark as my usual clots, but mostly red, however small parts of them are sort of milky white. Confused

Any reassurance/advice would be very very appreciated Smile

I hate to say this, but is there any chance you could have been pregnant? It sounds a bit like when I had an early mc. Sad

i get this from time to time. I've always assumed it just a larger part of the womb lining. nice

blouseenthusiast · 06/01/2012 16:11

That sounds quite normal to me.

I don't think so, it did briefly spring to mind but I've always used protection. I also had blood tests on the 16th of December and got the results yesterday, wouldn't it show up then if I was pregnant? would I feel it in some way if I was pregnant? But I have no other explanations Confused

Sorry, X-post, thanks for the reassurance, I just needed to know if it was 'normal' iyswim. We never really know other people intimate experiences so can't compare. Thanks :)

You can get all sorts of odd bit and bobs in there. It is womb lining after all...

Normal for me at times also. No chance of MC recently and have experienced the same.

A shiatsu lady once told me it should never be like this. Should be fresh blood and this other stuff is older blood and lining.
She made me feel crap about myself for months and always asked about my bodily functions...Until I asked friends and they all had the same. So chill.

This used to happen to me after I had treatment on my cervix. It was too tight for the blood to drip out and it would clot before it eventually worked its way out.
