I've not felt right for the last 6 weeks, felt like I'm going down with something but it's never come to anything.

The worst I've felt was just after Xmas when I slept until 9am (am normally awake by 7am)
and really ached all over including my bones
(weird I know) My glands have been up and down, it's not a cold or flu, have had a course of penicillin which hasnt done anything. Had blood tests which I'm waiting for the results of (too old for glandular fever) And now the gland thingy under my tongue is swollen. To top it all I'm having lots of headaches including all of today.

I have been living off of paracetamol and ibuprofen ever since I started to feel like this. I haven't taken maximum doses but taken something most days. I have not taken anything today cause I am worried of doing more harm than good however the doctor didn't seem too concerned..

Tried to find natural remedies online which of course has brought up horrendous illnesses with all my symptoms...

I just want to feel well :-(

:( Poor you, you sound really down. When will you find out blood test results?
Could you be stressed as well?

Chocamochalatte · 05/01/2012 20:02

I don't think I'm down.. I mean I have all the normal day to day stresses like monet, up to our overdraft limit, DH not having any work at the moment, recent change of role at work (and them having high expectations of me!) DC pretty good at the moment, no worries with them Smile

I do wonder whether some of it is a little stress and headaches caused by tension but I'm normally the positive one thinking of solutions!

I'm not qualified to say at all, but a lot of it does sound stress related.
See how the results are tomorrow and go back to your GP if until you are satisfied.
I really hope you can start to feel better soon, it must be yuck.

:( Didn't get my blood test results today and although I do feel better in myself my glands are still swollen, my throat feels 'scratchy' and now my gland thingies under my tongue are swollen red and sore... What does that mean?? What causes them? What can I put on it/them??

How are you feeling today Choca? My sister suffered with swelling in one of her salivary glands, turned out she had stones (like kidney stones I guess), she was encouraged to suck lots of lemons to activate the saliva to help clear out any blockages.
Not saying this is what it is at all, I think you need your blood results then back to GP for some answers.

Chocamochalatte · 07/01/2012 20:58

Hi Hippo, actually feel a bit better, glands are still swollen, I went to one of the walk in clinics today and have been told its an ulcer under my tongue, it certainly doesn't feel like one.. I had thought about the calcium stone thing but it's not hard and still plenty of saliva.. Guess I just I have wait for blood results and throat swab on Monday.. Thanks for thinking of me Smile
