Good/ bad Stroke hospital units, Birmingham

My father's had what looks like a minor stroke. He's in a hospital in Bristol atm, but might be transferred for MRI to nearer home (scanner shut due to Christmas!). Home's South Birmingham, so does anyone know if there are good or bad places to go? He's having CT scan this afternoon, and they'll decide if they can let him go or not later today, so I'm trying to find out just in case.

Thank you!

The obvious places your father will be transferred to are the Queen Elizabeth Hospital if he is still needing treatment (lots of moans about it because its new and unfamiliar to people, but they seem to do a good a job) or Moseley Hall or West Heath Hospitals for rehab (both are okay, just keep an eye on him and make sure the staff know that someone is overseeing what they're doing). If your father is to be discharged from hospital, but needs some TLC before returning home, you can't beat the Kendrick Centre in Harborne - he will need a referral from a Health worker and places are limited. Best of luck.
