anyone know much bout slapcheek/parvovirus

my 8yr old had a bright red face tuesday and complained head ache,neck ache and sore throat.she slept all p.m.test went to see santa then to a park,whilst the other 2 played she just cry and want to go home.red again in the eve and cry pain from throat.gave nurofen and slept ok.still complaining of sore throat.is in slapcheek and does she need to see a gp.off food and teary easily.tiring quickly too.dont want to rely on rubbish out of hours service over xmas with it

Sore throat would suggets scarlet fever to me rather than slapped cheek tbh. Have you checked to see if she has tonsillitis (white blotches on red throat)?

its hard to see.her throat is very red.whatever it is im starting to feel a bit crap and have a headache.hope she isnt catching!!!!!!!!has gone to see puss in boots with silings this afternoon if that exhausts her again will contact doctor tomorrow i think.she normally the strongest member of the hous...when we all had swine flu 2yr ago she was the only one who didnt just lay there and die quietly,kept try do stuff and get teary and cross.gave her some nurofen yesterday so at least she had a good nights sleep last night

but if it is strep throat/tonsillitis or scarlet fever (which is related) she will need ab's to sort it out. I find one of those small torches great for looking down a sore throat ! Hope you all feel better soon.
