and which keeps coming and going? I've been I'll on and off for weeks but the damn thing just won't go and has now turned into sinusitis - and I feel really I'll and shaky, hot etc a-bloody-gain!

What's wrong with my damn immune system?

Nothings is probably wrong with your immune system. You have probably just had one cold after another. Your immune system is working over time to fight off one virus when another bugger jumps up your nose and snotsville here you come.
Large doses of vit c, lots of fresh air and tlc. You will be better soon.

Loook on the bright side, you will never get any of these visruses again!!

Thanks kuna. I've just gone back to work after maternity leave, which I guess is a little like going back to school after the holidays. It's very draining!

have you tried sterimar yet??! I can't recommend it highly enough it's all natural and totally changed my boys from constant, snot running snot bags into clean noses!! It's a bit gross in that it flushes the nose out but it really does work....

Fresh air daily also good!!!

lisad123 · 09/12/2011 21:13

Yep me, I'm at end of week 3!! Loads of people I know have it Sad

Nannasylv · 10/12/2011 10:40

Same here as Lisad, my husband and I are trying everything, Garlic, Echinacea, Vit C, Phenylephrine, Honey and Lemon, and still the battle goes on!

RatherBeACyborg · 10/12/2011 10:47

Yep, also have blocked sinuses now as well. Am in pain!

controlpantsandgladrags · 10/12/2011 15:22

yes me. It briefly turned into tonsillitis which was tremendous fun and is now back to a cold. I recon I've had it for over a month now.

OhYouBadBadReindeer · 10/12/2011 23:22

me too. am rather pissed off with feeling rubbish.

breadandbutterfly · 10/12/2011 23:32

Yup, was ill from Aug to the end of Nov with barely a break - just 4 bugs after each other I think. :( It's v miserable, isn't it.

EmpressOfTheSevenSnowflakes · 10/12/2011 23:34

Yes, DW and I are sharing it Sad
DayNurse is good for us.

Heres another one, had mine for 6 weeks today, getting truly fed up!

Gincognito · 11/12/2011 00:25

I'm glad to hear it's not just me.

Sadly I can't take any of the good stuff as I'm still breast feeding. Is sterimar a drug or just a saline solution?

I've got it too :( Third week now, sooo fed up. It started as headache/nausea, then went to headache/stuffed sinuses, then streaming cold sore throat and NOW I have (I think) a chest infection - awake at this ungodly hour as cant sleep for coughing. I have NEVER in my life had a cold flu virus that's lasted more than a week, eat a healthy diet blah blah.
Loads of people I know have it too, and whilst it's non-sensical (as the flu vaccine is an inactive 'dead' virus), everyone falling ill seemed to co-incide with the vaccination period.

potnoodles · 11/12/2011 15:54

Me too. Started with generally feeling grotty with sore throat, went to full head cold, but I felt better in myself, and then - bam - high fever, dreadful throat, coughing through the night - and I have been through so many boxes of Kleenex that I wish I had shares in the company! I have had flu once before and this wasn't the same, as I have been able to get on the computer, get out of bed to answer the door etc. but I have been ill now for two solid weeks and I still have a slight temperature. When is it going to end............Confused

Sterimar is fab - its water based so totally safe from 3 years old. I'd recommend a good dose of over the counter sudafed to keep the nasal passages clear and stop the phelgm.

When I feel rubbish I take x 2 Ibuprofen and paracetamol with the standard Sudafed.
