DD started school in September and we have just had our first case of head lice. DD has had Hedrin, Nitty Gritty comb and tea tree spray. I am itching but DH has had a good look and can't see anything, so I think it may be psychological.

Do you generally treat every one in the family as a matter of course ? Or do you just keep a close eye on it and obviously treat if you see anything ?

At least condition and comb everyone, they are very infectious.

We had exactly this a few weeks ago. DS started school this term, he was infested (ewwww!), we all treated ourselves w hedrin. I think only he had them (top tip, do the hedrin before going to bed, put towel on pillow, if infested, towel will soon be litttered with louse corpses..... revolting, but effective!), but rather safe than sorry.

And yes, as soon as you hear the word "nits", you WILL itch......
